Napoli received no offer from Manchester United for Giovanni Di Lorenzo
According to transfer news from SportWitness, Napoli are yet to receive any offer from Manchester United for Giovanni Di Lorenzo. A €20m bid was said to have been made for the Italian right-back but that does not seem to be the case.
Di Lorenzo was an instant hit at the San Paolo since arriving from FC Empoli in 2019. He has been an undisputed first-choice regular at Napoli, not just with recently sacked manager Gennaro Gattuso, but also with previous boss Carlo Ancelotti, who was the one to sign him.
The Napoli man has been one of those quiet performers for Italy en route to their successful EURO 2020 campaign. His defensive nature has allowed Italy and Leonardo Spinazzola/Emerson to attack with freedom on the others side. Essentially, he played as a third centre-back, which explains why Italy were so tough to break down.
United had seemingly taken an interest in the Euro 2020 winner after his performances and labelled him suitable for the Premier League. The Red Devils were also said to have made an offer of €20m for him. However, there was no confirmation from Napoli of receiving any such offer from United’s end.

The defender’s stocks have risen after a successful Euro 2020 and clubs might just start to take attention. Di Lorenzo has not hogged the spotlight like some of his other more famous teammates. But rest assured that he did his job well. As of now, it would seem Manchester United are yet to make any sort of offer for him.
