Manchester United players recieve message from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ahead of UEFA Euro 2020 final
Speaking in an interview to the club media on the official Manchester United website, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has instructed United players to go out and enjoy the UEFA Euro 2020 final against Italy.
The Red Devils have four of their players, including Jadon Sancho, in the final for England. Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are likely to start, while Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho could find themselves on the bench again.
Solskjaer revealed that he has stayed in touch with his players throughout the Euros, and has instructed his players to go out and enjoy playing in the final.
“Enjoy it, of course, be focused. Of course, we’ve kept in touch about enjoying the victory and then then next morning, get on with the next one. Nothing becomes history as quickly as a football game. It’s history and you have to just look forwards to the next [one] and be ready. Luke and Harry, it’s just recovery. Marcus it’s train well, show a good attitude and show Gareth that you are ready.”
Solskjaer wishes the Red Devils good luck
He then mentioned that the club will also send them a good luck message ahead of the final. This is the first-ever Euros final for England and all that stands between them and the Henri Delaunay trophy is Roberto Mancini’s Italy.
“We keep in touch all the time. We will send them a good-luck message of course and it’s been the case for all the players, throughout the Euros and Copa America.”
Maguire is imperious in England’s defence as the team has conceded just one goal throughout the entire tournament. Shaw has also made a big impact from the left flank, especially in the knockout stages.
Rashford has struggled for minutes but there is always a chance of him coming on from the bench, and the same scenario applies for Jadon Sancho. The former Borussia Dortmund winger has mostly warmed the bench behind Bukayo Saka.
