Manchester United make opening bid for Jadon Sancho but fall short of valuation

According to transfer news from Daily Star, Manchester United have fallen short with their opening bid for Jadon Sancho. United had supposedly offered £60m but Dortmund are not budging from their £82m asking price.

This is the second time in two summers that the Red Devils are making a move for the English winger. Having missed out on him last summer, it appears that we are showing more of an initiative this time around.

Jadon Sancho has been on Manchester United radar for a long time

While there is continued optimism among all parties involved that an agreement can be reached, there is also a sense of cautiousness that accompanies it. Given the saga that occurred a year ago, that is to be expected.

It has now come to the fore that United have indeed made an opening bid of £60m for the Dortmund star. However, they have fallen short of the £82m that Dortmund are asking. The German side are looking to sort out the Sancho situation by the start of next month, having lined up replacements.

More Manchester United News:

The deal is expected to go through this time around as the clubs are said to be not too far apart on their offers and demands. However, it is clear United will need to pay up more than what they are offering. One can only hope this deal is done soon and United can then look to bring in other players.
