Manchester United prepared to go big to land Harry Kane
According to The Times (Subscription Required), Manchester United are ready to compensate Harry Kane for any financial loss he may have to undergo in order to leave Tottenham Hotspur.
The 27-year-old has performed splendidly for Spurs for a number of seasons and is amongst the best strikers in world football. However, for all his talents, Kane is yet to win a single major honour in his career.
With Spurs once again in limbo, he appears to have made up his mind to seek a new challenge elsewhere. While Manchester City is said to be in the driving seat, United are ready to splash the cash.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are so keen to land the England striker that they are willing to compensate him for any loyalty bonuses foregone if he was to put in a formal transfer request this summer.
This is in addition to other reports that Kane will find his wages doubled if he makes the move to Old Trafford. Such a move will see the England skipper pocket a mammoth £400,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams. (h/t Express)
It is fair to say that a move to United would be a financial goldmine for the Spurs ace.
Espirit de corps?
It is not just the club that is prepared to go overboard to land Kane. According to The Sun, United’s English stars are also set to convince Kane to join them at Old Trafford.
The likes of Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw are all England internationals and share the Three Lions dressing room with Kane.
With them all set to travel together for the summer’s Euros, a bit of quality time educating him about life in Manchester is not out of the equation.

It is not the first time that United’s English players have talked to a prospective target. Declan Rice had a fruitful chat with Maguire and Shaw during their time together with England in March.
While they are at it, our players might as well also try to convince Jadon Sancho.
