Antonio Rudiger hoping for Roma to get the better of Manchester United
According to The Express, Chelsea star Antonio Rudiger is hoping that AS Roma will knock Manchester United out of the Europa League.
The Italians take on the Red Devils in the first leg of their semifinal fixture tonight at Old Trafford. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side go into the game as the in-form team and should make it count.
This will be the club’s fifth semifinal appearance in a major competition under the Norwegian. Hopefully, we can put our curse behind us and restart the trend of winning trophies.
One man who hopes that will not be the case is Rudiger. Rather than any anti-United agenda, the German internationals’ comments are a result of his former alliegance with Roma.
The 28-year-old spent two seasons at Roma before moving to Chelsea in 2017. Despite his changing colours, it would appear there is still some affection he has for his former side.
“I played for Roma and I wish them the best. I hope they beat United and go to the final.”
Despite being the in-form team, Roma will present United with a formidable challenge. Solskjaer’s post-match comments following our quarter-final win over Granada has added extra spice to the fixture.
Despite him coming clean since Roma fans have urged their team to prove a point to the Norwegian. It adds spice to what is already a pivotal game for both clubs.

The Red Devils have faced off against the Italians six times in a competitive setup so far. They have won four of those games so far and are unbeaten in the last five games against Roma.
With Marcus Rashford declared fit to play, United have enough weapons in their arsenal to see the back of Roma. Hopefully, it will not be another semifinal that ends in heartbreak for us.
