Manchester United could be hit hard by West Ham’s pursuit of Yousseff En-Nesyri
According to La Razon, Manchester United could be dealt a massive double blow thanks to West Ham United’s pursuit of Yousseff En-Nesyri.
The Red Devils are one of the clubs keeping a keen eye on the 23-year-old Moroccan international. En-Nesyri has so far scored 22 goals in 45 games for the Andalousians this season. This has helped the Spaniards stay within touch of the La Liga summit. (h/t Transfermarkt)
With Edinson Cavani making up his mind to leave the club at the end of the season, bringing in a striker this summer is a must. En-Nesyri is the latest name to be added to our shortlist.
West Ham are also keen to strengthen their frontline and appear to be leading the race for the Sevilla star. This could present a problem to United on two fronts.
It is no secret that the Red Devils need not just a striker but also a centre-back. One of the names on our shortlist is the talented Sevilla star Jules Kounde.
Selling En-Nesyri could improve Sevilla’s financial position, preventing them from needing to sell Kounde. The Spaniards are seeking a club-record fee for the player who is enjoying an excellent debut season at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
Opportunity in crisis?
The Hammers decision could very well be a double strike against us. Whether we will pre-empt such a move by moving quickly for Kounde remains to be seen.
We could also make use of Jesse Lingard to force our position. The Hammers are keen on the United loanee who has been critical for them in the second half of the season.
Selling him to David Moyes’ side will boost our transfer kitty while also giving West Ham an attacker they crave. While it is far from certain, it is something we can look to do. More so it will also give us the money we need to pay what it takes to land Kounde.
