Luke Chadwick: Solskjaer should break his rule to bring Sergio Aguero to Manchester United
Speaking to Caught Offside, former Manchester United star Luke Chadwick has offered Ole Gunnar Solskjaer some advice regarding Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine veteran is in the final few months of his contract at Manchester City. One of the finest players to ever grace the Premier League, he looks set to leave the Etihad in the summer.
United were backed to make a bid for the player once he became a free agent. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, however, shot it down stating his belief in loyalty and club allegiances.
Chadwick agrees with Solskjaer’s assessment regarding Aguero. The 32-year-old is a bonafide City legend and is also the club’s all-time goalscorer.
“I completely understand what Ole’s saying, obviously Aguero’s an absolute legend at Man City and I couldn’t imagine that he’d move across the city to United.”
However, he has also urged Solskjaer to not dismiss the idea of securing a player of Aguero’s quality. Despite being a rival legend, he is a proven difference-maker and could be our shaved knuckle in the hole.
“I think if a player like him becomes available and you can get him, it would be silly to turn it down.”
A special player!
Chadwick believes Aguero should be the exception rather than the norm. The Red Devils are in need of a striker and despite being past his prime, he remains a potent goalscorer.
“I can see what Ole’s saying, but I think with someone Aguero you might make an exception because a goal-scorer is certainly what United have been crying out for this season.”

Chadwick clearly has a high opinion of Aguero and is keen for Solskjaer to see it that way. A s a striker himself, Solskjaer will be aware of Aguero’s exploits.
While it remains unlikely, it remains to be seen if the Norwegian will take up the opportunity if it presents itself.
