Rival News: Leicester to take on Manchester United sans six first-team stars

According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United will take on an injury-hit Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

The Red Devils qualified for the last-eight of the competition having defeated the likes of Liverpool and West Ham United in the previous rounds. Given our luck, it was not a surprise to see us draw the Foxes in the quarter-finals.

However, Brendan Rodgers may have a number of his stars unavailable. Ricardo Pereira became the latest player to be ruled out of the match on Friday.

The full-back is one of Leicester’s top players and has failed to recover from a hamstring injury sustained last week against Sheffield United. It represents another setback for a player who has only recently returned from a cruciate ligament injury.

However, he is not the only major star to be absent for Leicester. Star midfielder James Maddison is back in training but the clash tomorrow has come too close for the English international to take part.

Cengiz Under and Harvey Barnes will also miss the game while James Justin and Wes Morgan are long-term absentees.

However, one player who will return is Denis Praet. The midfielder has recovered from a hamstring problem since suffering the injury in the third round victory over Stoke City in January.

The Red Devils do have injury concerns of their own, however, none of them is as acute as that of Leicester. Not making the most of the advantage would be poor, to say the least.
