Marcus Rashford and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer react to Mason Greenwood signing new Manchester United contract
According to the Express, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Marcus Rashford are pleased after Mason Greenwood, signed a new contract, committing his future to Manchester United until 2025.
Greenwood is the United’s youngest goalscorer in Europe. Despite his tender age, he already has 82 appearances for the club. During that time he has notched up an impressive 21 goals and 10 assists. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Solskjaer was pleased with the news and believes Greenwood’s extension is testament to the fine work down in the club’s academy in bringing through young talents.
“Mason is a fantastic talent and yet another fine example of the type of player that our Academy produces.”
The Norwegian holds the youngster in high regard. He believes Greenwood is at the moment one of the best young talents in the country. Solskjaer is well aware of the player’s potential and believes he can go on to fulfil them at Old Trafford.
“Mason is naturally gifted and has a brilliant attitude; we know how important he is going to be for Manchester United over the coming seasons.”
Ole is not the only one pleased with Greenwood’s extension. Fellow academy graduate Marcus Rashford also took to Twitter to congratulate the 19-year-old on the new landmark.
Once the hype dies down, it will be back to business for Greenwood and co. The youngster has failed to hit the heights of last season and has so far scored just once in the league this campaign.
Hopefully, he will pick up the pace in coming weeks and ensure both he and the club enjoy a strong finish to the season.
