Jurgen Klopp indicates the kind of team Liverpool will field against Manchester United in the FA Cup

Speaking in an interview (h/t Daily Mail) on Friday afternoon, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp states that he would pick a strong team in order to win against Manchester United in the FA Cup.

Liverpool are in a downward spiral at the moment. The club have picked up just 3 points from their last 5 league games and have dropped down from 1st to 4th in the table.

The latest shock came against Burnley in a 1-0 loss at Anfield against Burnley. The Ashley Barnes penalty meant Liverpool’s 68-match unbeaten streak in the league at Anfield came to an end.

But Klopp remains calm amidst the storm. When asked about rotations against United in the FA Cup, Klopp stated that he would pick a strong line-up.

“The game will be decided that night and we want to win the game, so that is how we will make the line-up.”

Klopp eager to beat United

The German is known for switching his sides around in domestic competitions. Domestic cup matches are frequently used by managers to rotate their side and give the fringe players some game time.

The poor run of form comes after two sensational Premier League seasons for Liverpool. And Klopp would know that a domestic cup might be the club’s best chance at silverware this season.

Klopp acknowledges that United are in good form and says that he is wary of the threat that their rival poses.

“It’s a different competition and we want to go through and for that we have to play really well. United in a really good moment, we have to be ready.”
