Jurgen Klopp highlights a crazy Liverpool stat which showcases Manchester United’s weakness under Ten Hag
Manchester United and Liverpool played their hearts out on Sunday. Despite the result being anticlimactic, it was a hard-fought match by both Klopp’s Reds and Ten Hag’s Red Devils.
Even though both teams played hard, Liverpool had the upper hand for the most part. Klopp highlighted that his team ended up taking 34 shots at the Manchester United goal.
Out of those 34 shots, eight troubled Onana who did a fantastic job to save them. In comparison Manchester United took just six shots against Liverpool and only one managed to get a reaction out of Alisson Becker (fot.mob).
While Manchester United’s defense seemed to be doing their part it is the midfield and the attack that seemed lacklustre. Klopp highlighted that Man United still have work to do under Ten Hag.
Although the defence was the highlight for Ten Hag’s team, they still allowed their opponents to get 34 shots at their goal. Adjustments have to be made to bring that number down.
Moreover, Manchester United only had 32% of ball possession compared to Liverpool’s 68%. The Red Devils need to do a better job at retaining possession and creating chances.
Solely relying on counterattacks is not the recipe for success in the Premier League.
Hopefully, the next time Manchester United go up against an opponent like Liverpool it will be a game where the Red Devils don’t constantly look like they are on the back foot.

Fans will be hoping that Manchester United can improve upon all of these areas before their next match.
As the team begins to rebuild, the players are slowly starting to get into gear. If Ten Hag can keep this up, things will soon start looking up for the Red Devils.
