Newcastle United interested in signing Brandon Williams
A report at Chronicle Live (h/t Manchester Evening News) states that Newcastle United are interested in bringing Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams to St. James’ Park in the January transfer window.
Any deal for the youngster is said to be strictly loan based as Williams’ United contract runs until the summer of 2024, but Newcastle United’s interest would be taken seriously by the Red Devils.

Brandon Williams made his breakthrough in the Manchester United first-team last season where the youngster featured in a staggering 36 games for United in all competitions.
However, the 20-year-old has found it impossible to cement his place in the starting XI this season, especially after the arrival of highly-rated Brazilian left-back Alex Telles from FC Porto.
Williams has just played 6 minutes of Premier League football this season for United as he was brought on during the closing stages in the 3-2 win against Southampton last weekend. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Southampton are another club interested in Williams, as the Saints saw an attempt to bring Brandon Williams to St. Mary’s rejected in September. (h/t Manchester Evening News)
Manchester United already possess Englishman Luke Shaw and summer recruit Alex Telles at left-back. Both of them are in the prime ages of their career and would be vying for a starting spot in the United XI.
Brandon Williams would thus find it increasingly difficult to cement his position in the team but a loan spell away from Old Trafford would definitely add experience to the 20-year-old’s legs.
