Diogo Dalot vows to make selection difficult for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer
In an interview with Sky Sports, Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot has claimed that he and his teammates will make team selection hard for manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.
Dalot, signed by Jose Mourinho in 2018, hasn’t quite been able to establish himself at the club as of yet. Injuries have been a hindrance for the Portuguese full-back along with the summer signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka also.
As a result, Dalot has featured just ten times across all competitions this season, scoring a solitary goal. However, the 21-year-old has insisted that he intends to cause a selection headache to the manager once the season resumes next week. (h/t Sky Sports)
“We have a lot more players to each position and then we as a player need to make the task difficult for the manager. And he just has to pick 11, but we will make sure that everyone is ready and everyone is fully fit to play.”
Further elaborating on his stay at the club so far, Dalot admitted that injuries are a part and parcel of the game and he needs to live with it. But the 21-year-old vowed to prove why is deserving of a place at Manchester United. (h/t Sky Sports)
“They [injuries] are experiences that I need to live. It’s football and you need to be ready for this kind of challenge. I think I have the ability to play at right-back at this club and I need to show that.”

Given the congested schedule ahead, Dalot is likely to get plenty of opportunities to prove himself once the season resumes. Hopefully, the Portuguese international rises to the occasion.
