Manchester United to loan out Daniel James if they sign Jadon Sancho
According to The Sun, Manchester United could loan out Daniel James if the club signs Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window.
The club plan to do so to ensure the young Welshman receives ample playtime on the pitch. The club is also keen to secure his future by offering him a new contract. James has four more years left on his current deal, with an option for a further year. (h/t The Sun)
James enjoyed a fine start to life at United. The Welshman scored thrice in his first four Premier League games as he instantly shone for the club. Till date, he has made a total of 37 appearances far, scoring four goals and assisting seven more. (h/t Transfermarkt)
Not much was expected from the Welshman when he moved to United. It is safe to say he has shown both the hunger the ability to don the red jersey.
Sancho, on the other hand, is a beast of a player. One of the world’s best young talents, he is amongst United’s top targets.
With the likes of Jack Grealish also being targetted, competition for places next season could be much more intense. Such a situation could limit James’ minutes, which could hamper his development. (h/t The Sun)
However, both Sancho and Grealish will not come cheap. A report by the Express claims that United will only move for Sancho next summer if they can sign Grealish in the upcoming window.
This could work out well for James who will find opportunities easier to come by.
