Not much was expected from the Welshman when he moved to United. It is safe to say he has shown both the hunger the ability to don the red jersey.

Sancho, on the other hand, is a beast of a player. One of the world’s best young talents, he is amongst United’s top targets.

With the likes of Jack Grealish also being targetted, competition for places next season could be much more intense. Such a situation could limit James’ minutes, which could hamper his development. (h/t The Sun)

However, both Sancho and Grealish will not come cheap. A report by the Express claims that United will only move for Sancho next summer if they can sign Grealish in the upcoming window.

This could work out well for James who will find opportunities easier to come by.

United’s decision on James must wait until the season is finished. With a return to the Champions League still a possibility, strength in depth is important. Rotation will be important and players such as James will be worth their weight in gold.
