Manchester United made another big statement as they defeated Swansea rather comfortably. That is two wins out of two in the league but the scoreline doesn’t tell the entire story as we only got the first goal of the game only in the 45th minute as Eric Bailly scored.

Things were a little tense in the second half as Swansea tried to get back into the game but late goals from Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial ensured we go back after dominating another team.

We were impressive, especially in our finishing and here are the player ratings for our Red Devils.

David de Gea – 7/10

The Spaniard didn’t really have to do much in the game and will be happy that the defence did really well in keeping the Swansea attack quiet.

Antonio Valencia – 8/10

Valencia led the side out once again and was always bombarding forward to help the attack out. The right-back was good in defending as well and ensured we didn’t have major worries from the home team.

Eric Bailly – 8/10

Another stellar performance by the defence that was led by Bailly as he scored the first goal of the game right on the cusp of the half-time whistle and gave us a lead to build on.

Phil Jones – 7.5/10

Without Fernando Llorente in the side, Swansea didn’t have a lot of attacking options and Jones did his bit by keeping the Swans down. He did have one headed effort come off the bar and should have scored to give us the first goal of the game.

Daley Blind – 7/10

There weren’t a lot of problematic situations for Blind to deal with throughout the game and he did a pretty good job of keeping the Swansea attack at bay down the left.

Nemanja Matic – 8/10

Matic could turn out to be the signing of the season as once again, he kept the midfield ticking and ensured Swansea could not create much from the middle of the park.

Paul Pogba – 8/10

The former Juventus man seems to have found his feet at United in the second season. He might have been lucky to stay on the pitch in the first half but the Frenchman scored the third goal of the game as he started and finished the attack.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan – 7.5/10

Mkhitaryan had a bit of a quiet first half but helped us greatly in the second. It was his pass that found Lukaku open in the Swansea penalty box which the Belgian scored easily.

Juan Mata – 7/10

Mata had another industrious display, he might not have troubled the Swansea keeper but his energy and work rate were second to none in the game.

Marcus Rashford – 7/10

The English youngster had a couple of good chances to score in the first half but couldn’t trouble the scorers. Rashford was taken off in the second half as part of a double change.

Romelu Lukaku – 8/10

Another game, another goal for Lukaku but this time he had to wait till late in the game. Lukaku was found by a smart pass from Mkhitaryan and the Belgian made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

Subs

Anthony Martial – 7/10

Martial was full off running and did cause Swansea a lot of problems. He was rewarded with the fourth goal of the game and continued his great start to the season.

Marouane Fellaini – 6/10

Fellaini couldn’t have the same sort of impact as Martial and was on the field to ensure we didn’t let the game slip.

Ander Herrera – NA

Was brought on late in the game without any real impact.
