Here’s how the Manchester United stars fared against Swansea – Sanchez 8/10, Lukaku 8.5/10

Full Time: Manchester United 2-0 Swansea City

Manchester United climbed back above Liverpool, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. The scoring started off early against the Swans as Lukaku was played in by Sanchez. The Belgian scored his 100th Premier League goal as a result.

One became two just 15 minutes later as Sanchez got on the score sheet, only his second goal for the Red Devils as the away side seemed to be up for a battering, going down 2-0 after just 20 minutes.

However, things were not going to be that easy and the away side did come back well in the second half and we needed David de Gea to stay in top form as he denied Tammy Abraham from making it a tough game for us.

The win opened up a two-point lead over Liverpool, who had won earlier in the day. We still have a game in hand on our fierce rivals.

Our next game will be against Manchester City and hopefully, we can get a win over Pep Guardiola’s side. There were a number of great performances in the game and here’s how the boys fared.

Manchester United Player Ratings

David de Gea – 7/10

De Gea barely had work to do in the first half but he was ever-present to keep another clean sheet as he kept Abraham’s shot out.

Antonio Valencia – 6.5/10

This was a fairly easy game for the right-back to deal with as he was barely troubled by the opposition. He bombed forward and joined the attack.

Chris Smalling – 6.5/10

Smalling too was barely troubled by the opposition and did well to guide Victor Lindelof in what could have been a difficult game.

Victor Lindelof – 7/10

Although the youngster wasn’t tested as much as many would have expected him to, Lindelof did a pretty good job and possibly this was his best game in a United shirt.

Ashley Young – 7/10

Young continued his decent form at left-back slot and was a great outlet down for United.

Nemanja Matic – 7.5/10

Matic has been a great buy for us and this was another performance from the Serbian. He displayed just how much control he brings to the United midfield.

Paul Pogba – 7.5/10

Pogba was in good form and seemed to have fun in the midfield as he passed and pinged the ball around for fun.

Juan Mata – 7.5/10

Mata does bring a different dimension to the United side as his movement flummoxed Swansea for most parts of the game.

Jesse Lingard – 8/10

This was a great showing by the young Englishman as he picked up an assist. He was a thorn in the Swansea defence throughout the game.

Alexis Sanchez – 8/10

The Chilean performed incredibly well and this probably was his best game for United since joining from Arsenal.

Romelu Lukaku – 8.5/10

Lukaku looked in great form for us ahead of a mouth-watering clash against City. 100 PL goals is a commendable achievement.

Substitutes

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

Rashford wasn’t great in the game either but we didn’t really need someone to turn the game around for us.

Ander Herrera – 5/10

Looked a little off pace but hopefully, he will have better games in the future.

Scott McTominay – N/A

Came on late and didn’t have time to do much in the game.
