Manchester United Prepared To Raise The Bar As Real Madrid Set €90m Price Tag For Top Target

Alvaro Morata

According to Goal, Manchester United’s latest bid to sign Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata has been rejected. The report claims that the La Liga champions are holding out for close to €90m for the 24-year-old Spanish star.

We seem to have made Morata the main target for the summer and we do need strikers who can start for the first-team, given that Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s contract was not renewed. Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing the Real Madrid man to the club and wants him here before the start of the pre-season tour in the United States of America.

The report further adds that Morata does not want to return to the Spanish capital and is on a holiday. What would be working in our favour is the fact that Morata wants to move to Old Trafford and only the final fee has to be agreed on between the clubs.

The Spaniard scored 20 goals for Real last season and even though he won the Champions League and the Spanish League title, he didn’t play regularly. Morata would want to be part of the Spanish side ahead of the World Cup and signing for us would give him the regular football that he craves for.

Goal also reports that we have raised our offer from €70 million to €80 million and the way transfer amounts are hitting the roof, €90million could be the right price for the 24-year-old. The price certainly is a little steep and Madrid are doing their best to make life tough for us.

Mou and his team have only added one new player to the side and that is young Swedish defender Victor Lindelof from Portuguese side Benfica. If we are to do better than last season’s 6th place finish in the Premier League, a greater number of quality signings have to be brought into the squad.

With almost every team from the top six investing heavily on their squads, we cannot afford to be left behind as we chase the Premier League title and more trophies under the Special One.
