Lord Ed Woodward is at it again as Manchester United have stated that they are bringing in one of the most exciting centre-backs in the game. The club confirmed through the official website that we have signed Victor Lindelof from Benfica and the only thing standing in the way is a medical, which he should pass.
We had been linked with a move for the 22-year-old last season as well but the centre-back has now become our first signing of the summer and more are to come, we are sure about that.
What Lindelof gives us is a young centre-back pairing thanks to the presence of Eric Bailly. And with Mourinho coaching them, there is no doubt we will be stronger and better at the back.
The fee for the 22-year-old is reportedly close to the £30 million mark (Daily Mail) and that would be considered a bargain should the Swede fulfill his potential.
Even though he hasn’t joined the side yet, us United fans were certainly glad that Lindelof is coming to Manchester and here are some of the best tweets celebrating this brilliant purchase.
Lindelof done, Morata next? Ed Woodward do your thing! #MUFC pic.twitter.com/hvVkHGkO0x

Personally think Lindelof is a steal. Fantastic by Ed. Because we all know how actual shitty defenders are at a premium.

Lindelof and Bailly, aged 22 and 23 retrospectively. Throw Shaw in there, aged 21 (maybe). Very young defensive line but what potential!

In a total of 73 appearances for Benfica, Victor Lindelof has picked up just six yellow cards and never been sent off. Iceman.

I’m so excited about Lindelof and Bailly partnership. Unreal.
Fabinho in, Morata too. What a window so far.

Jose rarely gets his signings wrong, especially with defenders. Can’t wait to see Lindelof alongside Bailly next season! #WelcomeLindelof

The Lindelof signing should be the end of either Smalling or Jones #mufc careers. Bailly and Rojo ahead of them. Blind and Tuanzebe as cover

I don’t care what anyone says, £60 million for Bailly & Lindelof in this market is incredible. Hopefully Lindelof hits the ground running.
