Major Transfer Blow! Manchester United Long Term Target Will Not Be Allowed To Leave The Club

Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the summer. As per reports from Sky Sports, the new manager at Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho has inquired about the player’s availability, but the club has told him that he is not for sale.

Only a day ago, the player’s agent Mino Raiola revealed that the player prefers a move to Manchester United and the Dortmund officials also confirmed that Mkhitaryan has refused to renew his contract. The widely accepted notion was that; after this the club will let the 27 year old Armenian leave the club this summer instead of losing him for free next season but looks like the club has decided otherwise.

Chief Executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that they will see at the end of the contract and then allow Mkhitaryan to leave the club for free. Speaking to ESPN he said,

“We now know he won’t sign an extension. There was never a promise that he can leave us prematurely. We have intensely discussed the question of an early transfer in all club bodies and came to the conclusion that Mkhitaryan will stay in Dortmund next season.”
