Manchester United lose star for three weeks ahead of clash against Crystal Palace
As reported by Manchester Evening News, Manchester United star, Harry Maguire is set to miss three weeks due to injury ahead of Crystal Palace clash. This will be a huge loss for the Red Devils who are already short of defenders.
For the past few games, Maguire has been a huge star for United because he is the only Centre-back who wasn’t injured. Tyrell Malacia, Lisandro Martinez, Willy Kambwala, Victor Lindelof, and Raphael Varane are all out due to injuries.
Casemiro had been starting at centre-back with Maguire amidst this ongoing injury crisis. However, Erik ten Hag will now have to make do with Jonny Evans who has just recently returned from his own injury.
Evans will likely be rusty from all the time he’s taken off, so the Red Devils can have some serious defensive issues against Crystal Palace. Even more important is the FA Cup final against Man City near the end of the month.
If Manchester United take the ground against the Blues without some real defenders they’ll be making it too easy for their rivals. Moreover, a Manchester derby where one team is clearly worse than the other won’t be an entertaining affair.
The game against Man City will be extremely crucial for Ten Hag. Hopefully, he will be able to field a decent team when the time comes.
