Manchester United might lose out on managerial target to Bayern Munich
As reported by Spanish outlet Marca, Manchester United could end up losing out on their managerial target to Bayern Munich. The Bundesliga side has already made contact and is serious about the signing of Zinedine Zidane.
The former Real Madrid superstar has been linked to the job at Old Trafford for a very long time. His exploits with the Los Blancos have only made the Red Devils want him even more. Moreover, the new owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a big fan of the Frenchman.
However, unfortunately for Manchester United, Bayern Munich are also in desperate need of a new manager. The team lost the Bundesliga title for the first time in eleven years when Bayer Leverkusen clinched the league last night.
But the German giants knew they were fighting a losing battle from the start. So, they have decided to part ways with their manager, Thomas Tuchel, and are now in contact with Zinedine Zidane.
While they might want Zidane there is no guarantee that the Frenchman will be taking over. So, a lot of other candidates are also on Bayern’s shortlist. Names like Julian Nagelsmann, Hansi Flick, and Jose Mourinho have repeatedly been linked to the German side.
So, Manchester United still have a chance to swoop in and try to have another go at Zidane. Although it doesn’t seem like Premier League football is a part of the Frenchman’s plans, it is well worth a try.
