Manchester United would be the preferred choice of esteemed PL manager over his own club says Rio Ferdinand
Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has chosen his pick for Erik ten Hag’s replacement at Old Trafford. The Dutchman has had a disastrous campaign during his second year at the helm.
As is the norm with a big club like United, Ten Hag’s lack of results this people has already prompted people to discuss his successor at Old Trafford. This of course, takes into account that the Dutchman could be sacked before the season even ends.
With this in mind club icon, Rio Ferdinand has made a very bold claim while speaking on FIVE, he says that an esteemed Premier League manager would leave his own club for a move to Manchester United. Let’s have a look at who he was talking about. (h/t The Mirror)
“Arteta would leave Arsenal to come to Man United, 100 per cent,”
Ferdinand added that if Manchester United were to say that Arteta is at the top of their list. The Arsenal coach would drop everything and stand outside the doors of Old Trafford.
However, the Red Devils will likely not be going for the manager even if Erik ten Hag is sacked. Arteta’s lack of achievements makes him an unlikely target for the club. Moreover, with all the big names that are currently up for grabs, Mikel Arteta simply doesn’t compare.
However, all of this is just speculation at the moment, and Erik ten Hag is not close to losing his job at the moment.
