Following Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s acquisition of a 25% stake in the club, Manchester United is undergoing a restructuring of its financial operations. Omar Berrada, formerly of Manchester City, has been brought in to spearhead this initiative, aimed at optimizing the club’s financial management while ensuring compliance with Financial Fair Play regulations.

Part of this restructuring involves streamlining the club’s wage structure and exploring player sales in the upcoming summer transfer window. Offloading certain players would not only alleviate the club’s wage burden but also generate funds for potential new signings.

Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United could entertain offers for players like Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford, potentially leveraging a loophole in FFP regulations to capitalize on transfer profits.

Among the players being considered for sale, Antony appears to be a top candidate.

According to a report by Daily Mail, Manchester United are looking to cut losses for the Brazilian winger.

The Red Devils are dissatisfied with the 24-year-old’s performances. Although recouping the £84 million that the Red Devils paid to bring him from Ajax Amsterdam when he signed in September 2022 should prove challenging.

Antony has had an exceedingly poor season. He has only managed to score one goal and one assist in 26 appearances this season across all competitions. His sole goal coming in the 4-2 win against Newport County in FA Cup.

He has just played 19 minutes as a substitute in the last three Premier League games. Antony’s time at United looks like its coming to end. He is the latest player who is to be linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
