Rasmus Hojlund says that Manchester United’s form throughout the game vs Luton Town made him ‘nervous’
Rasmus Hojlund was on one during Manchester United’s game against Luton Town. The 21-year-old scored back-to-back goals within 14 minutes to give the Red Devils their only goals for the evening.
Ten Hag’s men defended this slim lead with their lives to come away with the three points. Some would even say that United were lucky to win the game, and it seems like the Danish striker is fully aware of this.
While talking to BBC after the game, Hojlund revealed that he felt a little lucky to come away with the win. He also showed great appreciation for his teammates and coach, who supported him through his dry spell in the Premier League earlier this season.
Here’s what Hojlund had to say about the game against Luton. (h/t BBC)
We are switching off a little bit. We know with this crowd and also the team, they are in a good run of form. We made it hard for ourselves today.
I was rubbing my hands a lot of times because I was quite nervous. I’m grateful for the win though, but a little bit lucky.
Hojlund’s luck seems to be carrying Manchester United at the moment
He went on to explain that he had faith in himself during his Premier League goal drought but was frustrated during that period. Now, Hojlund has become the youngest player to score in six consecutive Premier League games.
He may be firing on all cylinders but Erik ten Hag has his work cut out for him. Last night we saw the team getting complacent after taking an early lead and this almost led to them giving the game away.
Apart from the Dane, the entire team was wasteful with their chances and the defence left a lot to be desired. United were indeed lucky to come away with three points.

As mentioned by Hojlund himself, the team tends to ‘shut down’ during games. If the Dutchman cannot do anything to remedy this, the Old Trafford crowd might as well say goodbye to their dreams of playing in the Champions League next season.
