Manchester United receive transfer window blow as Bayern Munich have made their intentions clear
As reported by HITC (h/t Manchester Evening News), Bayern Munich have no interest in selling Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, this will surely come as a blow for Manchester United.
The 34-year-old was thought to be their desperation signing this winter, but it looks like even that is not an option anymore. It was earlier reported that Choupo-Moting has not been having a good time being Harry Kane’s backup.
His minutes have drastically been reduced since last season, just when the Red Devils were ready to pounce on the opportunity, Bayern Munich pulled the plug stating that they have ‘no interest’ in letting him leave.
It seems like the team will now have to go back to the prospect of signing Karim Benzema. It is fine for Manchester United to not sign any other players this January, but their attacking line is in desperate need of some reinforcements.
Erik ten Hag has been relying on Rasmus Hojlund to produce for the team and while he was a positive sight in the Champions League, he has struggled to find his stride in the Premier League, scoring just two goals in 16 appearances.
Manchester United will now have to go back to the drawing board. As always you can never rule out the Red Devils signing new players on deadline day.
