Roy Keane bashes Erik Ten Hag for falling short of his own expectations at Manchester United
Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane was quick to point out that Erik ten Hag has failed to realize his own ambition at the club. The Dutchman said that he would make Old Trafford into a fortress again.
While he has utterly failed to make a fortress out of Old Trafford, at this point it feels like he has taken a couple of bricks out of the place instead. Out of 11 home games Ten Hag and squad have lost four.
This also includes their historic 3-0 loss against Bournemouth. The Dutchman’s reign has eliminated the fear that emanated from teams every time they approached Old Trafford for a game.
Let’s have a look at what Roy Keane had to say about the whole situation. (h\t Mirror)
“When you’re at home, flex your muscles, and more importantly put fear in their opponents’ mindsets, but teams are playing Manchester United now and there is no fear anymore. I think teams are going to Old Trafford now and enjoying it!”
While the fans cheer and roar from the stands, Ten Hag and the team fail to deliver time and time again. Old Trafford is slowly starting to lose all its glory from the days of Sir Alex Ferguson.
Things will become worse if the Dutchman cannot figure his team out. Improvements have to be made and they have to be made with urgency, otherwise the Red Devils may not even be in Europe next season.
The team needs to fix their creative issues if they want to have a chance this season. Luckily for them, Mason Mount will soon be returning from injury.
