Barcelona star reveals that he was close to joining Manchester United in the past

Barcelona star Raphinha has revealed that he almost signed for Manchester United in the past but ultimately decided against it. This doesn’t come as a surprise when you look at the current state of our ‘Premier League giants’.

Manchester United will surely not be happy about missing out on such a quality player. Through 20 games this season, the Brazilian has recorded four goals and seven assists for Barca.

Let’s have a look at the Red Devils’ right winger this season. In 22 appearances for Manchester United, Antony has not made any impact at all with zero goal contributions.

It gets worse when you consider that Manchester United paid £82m for Antony and Barcelona only had to pay £55m for Raphinha. The Red Devils will surely have to do a better job at picking their talent.

Most of Erik ten Hag’s signings have been unable to make a mark this season. We have Mason Mount who has been dealing with injuries, and we have Rasmus Hojlund who has been extremely slow to find his stride.

The team will have to do a better job if they hope to salvage their disastrous campaign. There have been some positives now that Marcus Rashford is slowly getting back into form along with Alejandro Garnacho who has been brilliant the past few games.
