Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has a ‘red flag’ says pundit
Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho has been called out by footballer turned pundit, Kieron Dyer. The former Premier League midfielder noticed a ‘red flag’ while watching the 23-year-old play in the youth FA Cup when he was 17.
Dyer recalls Sancho being bested by Reece James in the FA Cup final and then going on to just quit on his teammates. This highlighted a mental weakness in his game that has now been labelled as a ‘red flag’.
Jadon Sancho had the world at his feet during his time with Manchester City’s youth team. Kieron recalls that the player could easily have his pick and play for whoever he wanted to.
Here’s what Dyer had to say while speaking on the podcast of talkSPORT. (h\t The Daily Mail)
‘He just mentally went and I kind of had a red flag against him then and thought that’s a bit weird.’
‘You could see the life had gone out of him, he’d stopped tracking back and sort of given up and was basically mentally gone.’
Clearly, Dyer wasn’t impressed by Sancho’s performance during the youth team’s FA Cup final. Everyone knows about the difficulty he has faced during his time at Old Trafford.
The English winger now has a point to prove to the entire world. If his loan spell at Dortmund is even remotely similar to his first stint with the team, it’ll be a job well done for Sancho.
