Manchester United looking to close a deal for former Tottenham target

As reported by Express, Manchester United could make use of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS to try and get Jean-Clair Todibo, who was previously being pursued by Tottenham Hotspur.

A deal could be possible for the Ligue 1 star since Ratcliffe’s company owns OGC Nice which is home to the Frenchman. The 24-year-old has garnered a lot of interest from Premier League teams after a string of good performances in Ligue 1.

If signed, Todibo could very easily become Raphael Varane’s replacement who has been linked to a move away from the club. It is also worth noting that Nice are not ready to let the player go this January.

OGC Nice know that Todibo’s presence on the team has been pivotal to their campaign this season. With this in mind, the team will be reluctant to sell him until a replacement is procured.

The Frenchman is an aerial threat and an excellent one-on-one defender who can cover large areas. He would be a perfect fit in Ten Hag’s defensive line who have faltered quite a bit this season.

Manchester United will likely not be facing any competition from Tottenham for his signature. As reported by Fabrizio Romano, the Spurs were prepared to pursue Todibo but are now close to a deal for Radu Dragusin.

Jean-Clair Todibo's time at OGC Nice could come to an end this summer.
