Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag wants two more summer signings this summer transfer window
According to the Independent (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag wants the club to make two more signings before the end of the summer transfer window.
United have had an impressive summer transfer window thus far with the likes of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund joining the club.
At the same time, deadwood players such as Alex Telles and Anthony Elanga have been moved while it is expected that there will be more outcomings with the likes of Fred, Donny Van de Beek, Dean Henderson, Eric Bailly and Harry Maguire all within the scope of leaving Old Trafford.
If United are able to raise funds through player sales, then Ten Hag wants to make two more signings before the transfer window closes.
It would, however, only be possible once the outgoings are done and the manager ideally wants to add a central midfielder and a central defender to the three summer signings.
Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat and OGC Nice defender Jean-Claire Todibo are the names mentioned to cover the positions. Still, it remains to be seen whether more targets for the two positions will be added.
West Ham United have shown interest in Harry Maguire with Everton also interested while Fred is gaining interest from a host of clubs and is expected to leave the club.
Donny Van de Beek is in talks with Real Sociedad while Henderson might be on his way to Nottingham Forest but his current thigh injury has derailed the process.
If United are indeed able to raise funds through players and add two more important players to the squad before the window closes, then hands down it would be one of the best transfer windows the club has had in the post-Sir Alex Ferguson era.
