Joao Felix dreams of Barcelona move amidst Manchester United interest
Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix dreams of making a move to Barcelona amidst interest from Manchester United in the ongoing transfer window.
The 23-year-old seems to be on his way out of Los Rojiblancos after falling out of favour under Diego Simeone. Over the years, the Red Devils have been constantly linked with the Portugal international.
However, speaking via Manchester Evening News, Felix revealed his desire to play for Barcelona. The Blaugrana are the preferred option for the Portuguese if he moves away from Atletico.
“I’d love to play for Barca. Barcelona has always been my first choice and I’d love to join Barça. It was always my dream since I was a kid. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”
Los Rojiblancos signed the 23-year-old from SL Benfica in the summer of 2019. However, the forward has been unable to live up to the £111 million price tag at the Metropolitano Stadium side so far.
In the previous campaign, Felix made 20 appearances in all competitions for the La Liga outfit, scoring five goals and providing three assists. Subsequently, in January, the Portuguese joined Chelsea on loan.
At the Blues, the 23-year-old thrived and showcased his ability to adapt to the Premier League. The forward was a standout player for the Stamford Bridge side in their rather dull season.
Therefore, we could do with someone like Felix in our ranks. The attacker is a quality player and has a lot of potential. Also, the Red Devils need to add reinforcements up front, with Anthony Martial the only natural number nine in our ranks.
On the other hand, Barcelona have an abundance of talent in the forward line. The Bluagrana have the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Ousmane Dembele, Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres at their disposal.
