Arsenal are interested in Manchester United target and Ajax Amsterdam attacker Mohammed Kudus
Premier League rivals Arsenal are interested in acquiring the services of Manchester United target and Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus, according to the Daily Mail (h/t Mirror).
The Gunners are looking to get a hold of the versatile attacker’s signature in the ongoing transfer window. To that end, the Eredivisie outfit value the Ghana international at £40 million.
For some time now, the Red Devils have been linked with the youngster. He broke into the Johan Cruyff Arena side’s first-team setup when Erik ten Hag was still their manager.
However, the Old Trafford side are yet to make a serious attempt to sign the 22-year-old. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether the North London side will instead opt to snap him up.
Ajax signed Kudus in the summer of 2020, and since then, he has grown from strength to strength. Initially, the Ghanaian was a bit-part player at De Godenzonen. However, in the previous campaign, the youngster thrived.
Playing mainly as a number nine or on the right wing last season, the 22-year-old made 42 appearances in all competitions for the Eredivisie outfit, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists. He took the mantle after Antony’s departure last summer.
United signed the Brazil international and reunited him with Ten Hag. The Dutch manager preferred the 23-year-old on the right-hand side of the Red Devils’ attack in the 2022/23 term. However, we seemingly lack depth in that position.
Also, the Old Trafford side arguably need a new centre-forward in their ranks. Anthony Martial is the only natural option at the gaffer’s disposal. On top of that, the 27-year-old was injury-prone in the former Ajax head coach’s first year in charge of the Manchester-based club.
