Manchester United are open to signing Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane on a free transfer once his contract expires, according to the Daily Mail.

As things stand, the England international’s existing terms with the North London side will conclude next summer. To that end, the Old Trafford side are willing to acquire his services if the striker runs down his deal with Spurs.

United have left the 29-year-old’s pursuit for now. At the moment, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are looking to get a hold of his signature. The Bavarians have even made multiple offers to Tottenham this summer. However, the Bundesliga giants’ approaches have been rejected.

Bayern feel Kane wants to join them in the ongoing transfer window. However, they are not willing to break the back to get him. Instead, the Bavarians could reignite their pursuit in January.

Tottenham seem to not fear the prospect of losing the 29-year-old for free. However, it is understandable, considering the importance of the English skipper to the North London side.

Kane has established himself as one of the best number nines in the world over the years. The striker has showcased consistency for several seasons at Spurs and has been their talisman.

At United, Erik ten Hag lacks options up front. The Dutch manager was unable to call upon Anthony Martial a lot due to his fitness issues. The French national picked up multiple injuries over the course of the 2022/23 term.

In January, the Red Devils signed Wout Weghorst as cover for the 27-year-old. They had to rely on the Holland international on a number of occasions. Unfortunately, the Burnley loanee was not up to our standards.
