Manchester United defender Will Fish goes out on loan Scottish side Hibernian
As per Manchester Evening News, young Manchester United defender Will Fish has once again joined Scottish side Hibernian on a season-long loan deal.
Fish will travel with the United squad to Edinburgh for next Wednesday’s pre-season game against French side Lyon.
The 20-year-old will then stay in the Scottish capital and join the Hibernian squad for the preparation ahead of the start of the next season.
Fish was with the Hibs last season as well. The England U19 international made 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals. He is a centre-back who occasionally can operate as a right-back.
After a slow start to life as a footballer in Scotland last season, Fish slowly became a regular starter at Hibernian.
His performances attracted interest from clubs in the Championship and League One this summer. Scottish giants Aberdeen also showed interest.
Another good season for the 20-year-old would be good for his development and for attracting a potential permanent move to any club next summer.
While it is all good for United to let go of the players in the transfer window, they have only made one addition to the first-team squad this summer so far – Mason Mount.
The pre-season has started and there is uncertainty as to how many more will come. Erik ten Hag should not be happy with the situation.
After the departure of David de Gea, the club are focusing on getting Andre Onana. They must do their best to sign a striker as well. Rasmus Hojlund is on the shortlist, but any more is dragging on.
