PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe in contact with Premier League teams amidst Manchester United interest
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) superstar Kylian Mbappe has been in contact with Premier League teams amidst interest from Manchester United, according to L’Equipe (h/t Metro).
Real Madrid are expected to revive their pursuit for him. But over the years, the likes of the Red Devils have been keeping tabs on the France international as well. Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea have also had him on their radar.
To that end, the forward has stayed in touch with ‘several’ of the English top-flight sides since. Now, the 24-year-old looks set to depart the Parisians in the coming months.
Recently, Mbappe informed the Parc des Princes side that he has no intention of signing a new contract. As a result, the French national will be a free agent at the end of next season.
However, PSG do not want to lose the 2018 World Cup winner for nothing and have put him up for sale. The Ligue 1 outfit are on the lookout for potential buyers for the 24-year-old.
It makes sense for the Parisians to cash in on their valuable asset when they can. They have already lost Lionel Messi from their front line and will evidently need to bolster their front line.
United’s attack has heavily relied on Marcus Rashford since Erik ten Hag’s arrival. The England international was our leading goalscorer last season.
Apart from the 25-year-old, none of our attackers was able to find the back of the net on a consistent basis. For the number nine position, the Dutch manager had an injury-prone Anthony Martial at his disposal. We also signed Wout Weghorst on loan in January.
