Premier League rivals Arsenal have joined Manchester United in the race for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, according to 90min (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Red Devils are looking to acquire the France international’s services and are still interested in him. Erik ten Hag has already made contact with the midfielder regarding a move ahead of next summer.
However, the Old Trafford side are not alone in their pursuit of the 28-year-old. The Gunners are also monitoring his situation at the Old Lady.
Juventus signed Rabiot in the summer of 2019 on a free transfer. As things stand, the French national’s contract at the Bianconeri is set to expire at the end of the season and he will once again be available as a free agent.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful season at the Serie A giants. He was also pivotal in Didier Deschamps’ plans as Les Bleus made it to the World Cup final in Qatar.
Thus, apart from United and Arsenal, other English top-flight teams, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, also have the midfielder on their radar.
Mikel Arteta’s team have exceeded expectations in the current campaign and have given Manchester City a tough fight for the title. The Gunners have counted on Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey in their engine room for most of the season.
As for United, Casemiro and Christian Eriksen have been Ten Hag’s preferred duo in the midfield pivot. However, the gaffer seemingly does not have enough quality in depth. Fred, Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek have failed to make a mark at the Old Trafford side over the years.
