Marcus Rashford injury doubt; Raphael Varane back for Manchester United vs Wolves
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is an injury doubt for the clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves), but Raphael Varane is back.
The French national is fit enough to return to action versus the Molineux Stadium side on Saturday (13 May) in the Premier League at home. But unfortunately, the Old Trafford side could be without their 2022/23 season’s leading goalscorer.
Speaking to the media via the club’s official website, Erik ten Hag gave a worrying update regarding the England international. Thankfully, our defence will get a much-needed boost with the former Real Madrid star’s return.

“He has a problem, an injury on his leg, so he is a big question mark for tomorrow. But we are happy Rapha Varane is back.
“[Rashford] is doubtful, more than doubtful. So [there is] a big question mark.”
Rashford has been United’s talisman in the current campaign. Since the Dutch manager’s appointment, the 25-year-old has been our only reliable outlet in front of goal.
Ten Hag has had to consistently rely on the English national to find the back of the net this season. Unfortunately, our other attackers have been a bit underwhelming in terms of their contribution in the forward line.
The likes of Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho have spent long periods on the sidelines. On the other hand, Antony is yet to find his feet at the Old Trafford side. The Red Devils signed the Brazilian from Ajax last summer.

As for Varane, 30, he has been unavailable since picking up a knock in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals versus Sevilla. Lisandro Martinez got injured in the same game as well, ruling him out for the rest of the campaign.
The two World Cup winners have been the gaffer’s preferred partnership in the backline this season. In their absence, Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw have deputised in the central defensive positions. However, the trio have made a few mistakes over the last few weeks.

Hopefully, Varane will play a part against Wolves as we try to secure a place in the top four. Also, in the absence of Rashford, our other players will need to step up.
