Inter Milan to demand £35 million for Manchester United target Andre Onana
Andre Onana, who has been linked with Manchester United in the past, will be allowed to leave Inter Milan for £35 million next summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport (h/t Manchester Evening News).
David de Gea is currently the number one at the Old Trafford side. The Spaniard’s existing deal with the Old Trafford side is set to expire at the end of the season. But talks with the 32-year-old over a new contract are ongoing.
Erik ten Hag will likely be looking to get a new shot-stopper in the near future, regardless of the former Atletico Madrid star’s future. However, it remains to be seen whether the Manchester-based club will stump up the cash for the Cameroon national.
Onana made his way through the youth ranks at Ajax. Subsequently, the 27-year-old established himself as a quality shot-stopper at the Amsterdam-based club.
Under Ten Hag, the Cameroonian thrived with De Godenzonen. At the end of the previous campaign, the goalkeeper left the Eredivisie champions on a free transfer and joined Inter.
In Italy, Onana has replaced veteran Samir Handanovic as the number one. The 27-year-old has been a key player for Simone Inzaghi’s team this season. The Nerazzuri have made it to the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will face bitter rivals AC Milan.
De Gea has been in fine form since last season. However, since Ten Hag’s arrival, the Spaniard’s frailties with the ball at his feet have been more pronounced.
However, on the bench, the Dutch manager has Tom Heaton and Jack Butland as backups. With all due respect, the two are not up to the Old Trafford side’s standards.

Therefore, we seemingly require more depth in the goalkeeping department. Onana is familiar with Ten Hag and his philosophy. However, will we acquire the 27-year-old’s services in the coming future? Only time will tell.
