Ryan Gravenberch, who plays for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, ‘would be happy’ to work with Erik ten Hag at Manchester United, according to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna on Twitter (h/t Express).

The Red Devils are looking to bolster the middle of the park in the upcoming transfer window. To that end, the Old Trafford side are interested in acquiring the Holland international’s services.

However, apart from the Manchester-based club, Premier League rivals Liverpool also have the midfielder on their radar. Jurgen Klopp’s team are eyeing reinforcements for their engine room as well.

Gravenberch made his way through the youth ranks at Ajax. The youngster got his first-team opportunity at the Amsterdam-based club under Erik ten Hag and was a key player for them last season as they won the Eredivisie.

Then, last summer, the 20-year-old joined Bayern. However, things have not gone to plan for the midfielder in Germany up until now. He has started in only one Bundesliga game so far for them.

The Holland international faces immense competition at the Allianz Arena side. Thomas Tuchel has the likes of Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka at his disposal in the midfield.

United signed Casemiro and Christian Eriksen in the summer of 2022. The two have been impressive in the current campaign. However, without them in the team, we look uninspiring.

On the bench, the Red Devils have Fred and Scott McTominay, who have been inconsistent over the years. In January, the Old Trafford side had to sign Marcel Sabitzer on loan from Bayern to add depth to the engine room.

Therefore, we could evidently do with more quality in the middle of the park. Gravenberch has not been able to showcase his talent in Germany, but Ten Hag knows all about the youngster. But it remains to be seen whether Bayern will let the two reunite in Manchester.
