Amad Diallo hopes for Manchester United return from Sunderland loan next season
Manchester United youngster Amad Diallo, who is on loan at Sunderland at the moment, is hoping to return to the Old Trafford side at the end of the season.
The Ivory Coast international joined the Championship outfit in the summer of 2022 on a temporary move until the end of the campaign. At the Stadium of Light, the forward has caught a lot of people’s attention with his displays.
Speaking to FourFourTwo (h/t Manchester Evening News), the 20-year-old is looking to showcase his talent for the Red Devils. He dreams of playing regularly for the Manchester-based club.
“I haven’t shown my best for them [United] yet, but I hope next season I can return and prove my talent. My dream is to play regular football at Manchester United.”
Amad signed for United in the winter window of 2021 from Atalanta. He had mostly played for the Serie A outfit’s youth side before making a move to the Red Devils.
Upon his arrival, the Ivorian was given a few opportunities but failed to impress. After not getting a lot of minutes last season, the youngster joined Rangers on loan in January. However, his time in Glasgow was not glowing.
But the 20-year-old finally seems to have found his feet. The forward has been a pivotal player for Tony Mowbray’s team as they look to get a place in a playoff tie for promotion.
In the current campaign, Amad has made 34 appearances in all competitions for Sunderland. He has found the back of the net 11 times and has provided three assists.
At United, Antony has been Erik ten Hag’s preferred option on the right wing. The Dutch manager can also count on the likes of Jadon Sancho and Facundo Pellistri on the right-hand side of the attack.

Therefore, for now, it would seem prudent for Amad to continue his development away from the Old Trafford side. Hopefully, further down the line, the Ivorian will get his chance to shine at the Theatre of Dreams.
