According to the Telegraph, Manchester United have put the midfield duo of Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister on their transfer list ahead of the possible summer move.

The two South American stars, who have had excellent seasons for Brighton and Hove Albion so far, are among the shortlisted midfielders for Erik ten Hag as he aims to recruit a central midfielder in the coming summer window.

Knowing that both Mac Allister and Caicedo signed new deals with the Seagulls this season, they would demand more than £70m for them, provided United make a move.

Ten Hag was forced to play Bruno Fernandes in a deeper midfield role with Scott McTominay against Everton due to the lack of availability from Casemiro and Christian Eriksen just returning to the bench.

Even when those two will be back for the next game (Casemiro’s suspension is over and Eriksen came off the bench against Everton), United could do with another combative box-to-box midfielder in the setup next season onward.

If we talk about Caicedo and Mac Allister, both are versatile midfield players who can either play in a midfield pivot or as one of the number eights in a three-man midfield. The latter can even play further forward as a number 10, just like he has done in the last few league games.

If ten Hag hasn’t had a closer look at them yet, that promise will be fulfilled when United face Brighton in the semi-final of the FA Cup on the 23rd of April at Wembley.

Before that though, key league games and a two-legged Europa League quarter-final tie against Sevilla await.

We hope that United are sensible in the transfer market this time around. Even though the recruitment was decent last time around, it felt like they overpaid for certain players.
