Barcelona would only consider nine-figure sum for Ansu Fati amidst Manchester United links
Spanish giants Barcelona will only allow Ansu Fati to leave if they receive a nine-figure sum amidst links to Manchester United, according to Fichajes (h/t Manchester Evening News).
Recently, the Spain international and the Blaugrana’s head coach Xavi rubbished links with the Red Devils and other clubs. However, a big offer could seemingly tempt them.
The 20-year-old made his way through the youth ranks at the famous La Masia. Subsequently, the forward broke into the La Liga outfit’s first team in the 2019/2020 season.
Fati went on to be bestowed with Barcelona’s number 10 shirt after Lionel Messi left the club in the summer of 2021. However, injuries have hampered the youngster from fulfilling his potential up until now.
At the moment, Xavi has an abundance of talent to call upon in the forward line. The Blaugrana have the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembele, Raphinha and Ferran Torres at their disposal.
As a result, the La Masia graduate has found game time hard to come by. In the current campaign, the 20-year-old has started in just eight games in La Liga.
At United, Erik ten Hag currently has only two natural strikers in his squad—Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. Unfortunately, the France international has struggled with fitness issues this season.
As for the Holland international, he has shown willingness in recent weeks. The 30-year-old’s work rate has been admirable. But the former Wolfsburg star is at the club only until the end of the season.

Therefore, the Red Devils will evidently need a few players to add quality and strength in depth up front. However, a nine-figure sum for Fati, who has been underwhelming for some time now, seems too much.
