Juventus ‘will come calling’ for on-loan Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer next summer
Serie A giants Juventus ‘will come calling’ for on-loan Manchester United star Marcel Sabitzer in the upcoming transfer window, according to Calciomercato (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The Austria international joined the Red Devils on a temporary move from Bayern Munich until the end of the season in January. However, the Old Trafford side do not have an option or obligation to make his signing permanent.
As a result, once the 28-year-old returns to Germany next summer, the Binaconer will look to pursue his signature. The Italian outfit have a firm interest in the midfielder, who is valued at £16 million.
At the moment, Massimiliano Allegri’s team are not having the best of seasons. While they have picked up decent results in the league in recent weeks, the Old Lady are still 10 points off the top four.
Juventus have the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Manuel Locatelli and Leandro Paredes in their ranks in the middle of the park. The Bianconeri have also seen youngsters like Nicolo Fagioli and Fabio Miretti break into the first team this season.
Sabitzer signed for Bayern in the summer of 2021 from Rb Leipzig. At Die Roten Bullen, the Austrian established himself as one of the best playmakers in the Bundesliga.
However, the 28-year-old’s time with the Bavarians has not been relatively fruitful. The midfielder has been a bit-part player at the Allianz Arena side under Julian Nagelsmann.
United signed Christian Eriksen last summer on a free transfer. The 31-year-old has been pivotal for Erik ten Hag in the current campaign. However, with the Denmark international’s injury in January, the Red Devils sanctioned a loan move for Sabitzer.

It has turned out to be a wise decision by the Old Trafford side. The Austrian has played a pivotal role for the Dutch manager in recent fixtures. However, will the Manchester-based club battle Juventus for the 28-year-old’s signature next summer? Only time will tell.
