Newcastle United join race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham amidst Manchester United links
Manchester United have been joined by Newcastle United in the race for the signing of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, according to Sport Bild (h/t The Sun).
The 19-year-old’s displays this season have led to several top club’s being interested in acquiring his services. In the Premier League, Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are also eyeing the England international.
European giants Real Madrid want to get their hands on the youngster’s signature as well. Therefore, come this summer, it will be interesting to see where the midfielder lands.
BVB plan to get a club record fee for Bellingham. The 19-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants in the summer of 2020 from Birmingham City and has developed into a world-class talent in a short space of time.
The England international immediately made his place in the German outfit’s starting lineup when he arrived. In the current campaign, the midfielder has become one of their leaders.
Bellingham has been impressive at Dortmund this season. Edin Terzic has also trusted the youngster with the captain’s armband on a few occasions.

Newcastle have been a revelation in the English top flight in the current campaign. Eddie Howe’s team are firmly in place to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League. The Magpies also have the opportunity to get their hands on silverware, with Man United their opponents in the Carabao Cup final.
The Red Devils are in a bit of a midfield crisis at the moment. We signed Marcel Sabitzer on deadline day in January, with Casemiro and Fred the only two established midfielders in the squad.

Bellingham is a generational talent capable of being a game-changer. Any top team will have a gem on their hands if they pry the midfielder away from Dortmund. But will the Old Trafford side be the 19-year-old’s next club? Only time will tell.
