Rafael Leao wants to extend AC Milan stay amidst Manchester United interest
Ted Dimvula, the agent of Rafael Leao, has reiterated that the forward is keen on extending his stay at AC Milan amidst interest from Manchester United.
The Portugal international’s current contract with the Rossoneri expires in the summer of 2024. Subsequently, there has been speculation about the Serie A giants and the 23-year-old not seeing eye to eye on the terms of a new deal.
As a result, the Red Devils have been linked with Leao’s signature. Premier League rivals Manchester City are also one of the clubs in the mix to acquire the forward’s services.
However, speaking to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano via Sports Mole, Dimuvla slammed the stories about a disagreement between the Portuguese star and Milan as false. The 23-year-old is prioritising staying with the Rossoneri.
“There are many false and misleading informations about Rafael Leao, mainly in Italian press. This has only one aim: too parasitize cordial and professional exchange that we have with AC Milan management regarding the extension of Rafael’s contract.
“The player’s priority has not changed: he wants to stay at AC Milan and continue to grow and progress in this institution and this city that he loves so much.”
Leao joined the Serie A giants in the summer of 2019 from LOSC Lille. The Portuguese star needed a couple of seasons to settle in at the San Siro side.
However, since the 2021/22 campaign, the forward has been a key player for Stefano Pioli’s team. The Italian outfit won the Scudetto in the last term after an 11-year gap.

While Milan have not been at their best this season, the 23-year-old has continued to shine. In 27 appearances in all competitions, he has found the back of the net nine times and has provided nine assists.
United evidently lack depth in the forward line. However, we have several quality players capable of playing on the wings. However, what we do not have in abundance are natural strikers, with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst the only ones at Erik ten hag’s disposal.
