“I do my best”- Teenage loanee gives verdict on his Manchester United future

Hannibal Mejbri hopes to succeed at Manchester United after loan spell with Birmingham City

Manchester United youngster Hannibal Mejbri, who is currently on loan at Birmingham City, hopes to return to the Old Trafford side next summer and succeed.

The Tunisia international joined the Championship outfit in the recent transfer window on a temporary deal. He is getting regular game time at the St Andrews side under John Eustace.

Speaking to Goal.com (h/t Manchester Evening News), Mejbri revealed that his ambition was to do well upon returning to United. However, the 19-year-old is unsure about what will happen next summer.

“I am currently playing for Manchester United – and my goal is to achieve any achievement with the best team in the world. I am in Birmingham until next June, and I do my best to serve the team, and will return to Manchester United and I do not know what is in the future.”

The Tunisian made his way to the Old Trafford side in 2019 from AS Monaco. For most of the midfielder’s time with the Red Devils, he played with the youth sides.

Mejbri made his debut for United in the final Premier League fixture of the 2020/21 campaign. The 19-year-old came on as a substitute for the final minutes of the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which we won 2-1.

Last season, the youngster made a couple of appearances for the Red Devils in the English top flight. His tenacious displays, especially his cameo against Liverpool, were appreciated by the fanbase.

With the arrival of Erik ten Hag, Mejbri was loaned out to Birmingham. He has played in the number eight position at the Championship side. The 19-year-old also gained valuable experience featuring for Tunisia in Qatar at the World Cup.

United’s midfield saw the arrival of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro in the recent transfer window. The Denmark international has been pivotal under the Dutch manager this season.

Mejbri is still young and has a lot of time to develop into a potential future star. However, it will be interesting to see whether Ten Hag keeps him in the squad in the 2023/24 campaign.
