“In the end, once it was clear I would not go to United, I focused straight back on Juventus to give everything I had.

“I am out of contract in June, and I don’t want people to think that I am not committed or invested at Juve this season. I feel attracted by the football, by the Premier League itself and its super competitive nature. I loved my time there, even if I was young.

“After the World Cup, I will start thinking about my future more.”

The 27-year-old played his youth football at several sides, including at rivals Manchester City for a few months. Subsequently, the France international signed for Paris Saint-Germain and made a name for himself at the Ligue 1 outfit.

After several years with the Parisians, Rabiot opted to sign for Juventus. And the midfielder has seen regular first-team action during his time in Italy. However, in the last few seasons, the Old Lady have struggled to maintain their standards.

In the current campaign, the Serie A giants have struggled under Massimiliano Allegri. However, the French national has put in consistent performances for the Bianconeri. As a result, Rabiot also made it to Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad.

United ended up bolstering the middle of the park in the summer of 2022 with the addition of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to the squad. The Danish and Brazilian nationals have been key members of Erik ten Hag’s starting lineup.

The former Tottenham Hotspur star has surprised a lot of fans with the impact he has had in Manchester. Against Fulham, in the Red Devils’ final fixture before the World Cup break, the 30-year-old scored his first goal for us in a 2-1 win.

While Rabiot is decent, currently, we have a set engine room with Casemiro partnering Eriksen. The French national’s moment for a move to the Old Trafford side seems to have passed. And it would be wise for the club to look at younger prospects in the market.
