Erik ten Hag is keen on bolstering the right-hand side of defence at the Old Trafford side. The Dutch manager does not fancy the former Crystal Palace star to provide competition at the club.

In the recent transfer window, the 24-year-old was linked with a move back to Selhurst Park after being deemed surplus to requirements. However, the Red Devils ended up keeping the defender.

Since then, Wan-Bissaka has played just four minutes of competitive football under Ten Hag. He came on as a substitute in the final minutes of the 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Premier League.

The England U21 international has seen his stature in the squad fall quickly. Until Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in the dugout, the 24-year-old was the first choice.

Wan-Bissaka signed for United in the summer of 2019 from Palace. And the right-back had turned many heads with his performances for the Eagles. Fans who had regularly seen him play at Selhurst Park knew the 24-year-old was defensively sound.

However, at the Old Trafford side, the England international has struggled to convince supporters of his qualities over the years. His contribution in the final third leaves a lot to be desired.

And with the departure of Ole, Diogo Dalot came into the side. He pipped Wan-Bissaka to the starting spot. Since then, the Portugal international has been the first choice.

Under Ten Hag, the former FC Porto star has started every game for United. He is the only outfield player to do so this season for the Red Devils.

However, fatigue and injuries are part of the game. Thus, the Old Trafford side evidently need to bolster the right-back position.
