Transfer News: Manchester United are interested in Jhon Duran who is also on Liverpool’s radar

According to The Sun, Manchester United are interested in Liverpool target Jhon Duran from Chicago Fire in the MLS. The 18-year-old centre-forward has been making a massive impact for his side.

Rivals Liverpool have been targeting the Colombian international, and now United have also joined the race. Erik ten Hag’s associates have been in contact and are keen to get their hands on the player.

Should a move go through, the 18-year-old will likely cost £10 million. Duran’s agent and family had recently travelled to England and the player also has suitors in Spain.

Jhon Duran is attracting much attention from Liverpool and Manchester United.

Duran was in fine form in the MLS this season. The 18-year-old played 27 times in the league, scoring eight goals and registering five assists in the process.

Such numbers by a teenager was bound to put top European clubs on alert. United could do with an up-and-coming striker in their squad.

Uncertainty over the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and frequent injuries to Anthony Martial has left no natural striker in the team. Marcus Rashford has stepped in whenever needed, but it looks Erik ten Hag could do with a natural centre-forward.

While Duran would not likely make the first team should he arrive, his potential is something that the Reds could do with. The first-class infrastructure at the club would only benefit the player and a coach like Ten Hag could help the 18-year-old unlock his true potential.
