PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo attracting interest from PSG amidst Manchester United links
PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo, who is being linked with a move to Manchester United, is attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), according to Media Foot (h/t Manchester Evening News).
The 23-year-old has pooped up on the Ligue 1 champions’ radar after his impressive run of form this season. Key figures in Paris are alert to the Holland international’s situation in the Eredivisie.
Gakpo was constantly being associated with the Red Devils in the recent transfer window. However, the 23-year-old ended up staying at PSV.
The Holland international has tuned many heads with his performances in the current campaign. In 19 appearances in all competitions for the Eindhoven-based club, the forward has registered 13 goals and provided 11 assists.
Gakpo has featured in every game for PSV this season. The winger is currently being managed by United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy at the Eredivisie side.
The Red Devils signed Antony from Ajax in the summer of 2022. The Brazilian reunited with Erik ten Hag in Manchester. And the Brazilian’s start to life at the Old Trafford side has been impressive.
Lisandro Martinez was also signed from the Amsterdam-based club in the recent transfer window. And the Argentine has also been a pivotal member of the starting XI in the current campaign.
United’s forward line consists of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho as well. Unfortunately, Anthony Martial has not been able to feature as much under the Dutch manager. Cristiano Ronaldo’s future is also seemingly uncertain. Thus, there is an evident need to bolster the frontline.
